This writing prompt caught my eye as I thought it might be fun to play with. Until the real world rushed that is. One of the most powerful people in the world right now embodies all these sins. And that’s when the comedy died …
For isn’t this list the absolute empitomy of Trump and his cohorts …
- Envy = the desire to have an item or experience that someone else possesses
- Gluttony = excessive ongoing consumption of food or drink
- Greed or Avarice = an excessive pursuit of material possessions
- Lust = an uncontrollable passion or longing, especially for sexual desires
- Pride = excessive view of one’s self without regard to others.
- Sloth = excessive laziness or the failure to act and utilize one’s talents
- Wrath = uncontrollable feelings of anger and hate towards another person
This has been lurking around in my drafts folder for a while now, but last week’s Senate Hearings into the suitability of Brett Kavanaugh for appointment to the Supreme Court forced it to break cover.

Nailed it. I think that the only thing that I would add to that is that the gluttony thing is not only limited to food and drink – nothing and no one is safe.

Agreed. I used dictionary definitions, but there is no doubt that the scope of these sins can (and does) range far & wide.
