Forties frolics

Himself & I attend more than one of two military related events over the course of the year and something I’ve noticed is the increasing number of people attending these events dressed in forties everyday clothing. From the numbers of 40s events now in the calender, it’s clearly a growing area of interest in the living history field. Indeed, one of our military history living history participants is starting to dabble …

For some, it’s about telling the story of how the folks back home lived during WWII, while for others it’s all about the music and dancing. Here’s some snaps I took last year …

Where else would you find Winnie next to Viv the spiv …

And hats, lots & lots of hats …

And yet more music and dancing …

Re-visiting these pictures brings back memories of summer. I wonder if this year will see this passion growing  and providing this happy snapper with even more opportunities to take pictures!

  1. I think they do have a lot of fun 🙂
I love the hats too, although am glad I didn’t live then as I look absolutely terrible in a hat!
