AmeriCARna – or hot rods & other stuff

To me – like many a woman – a car is simply a practical tool. It gets me from A to B, hopefully in comfort and safely. Despite this, Himself has managed to persuade me to attend an Easter weekend Ferrari festival in a nearby town, where I’ve admitted to casting a few admiring glances at the prancing horse, together with some other examples of prime car va-va-voom.  But this time, it was the turn of AmeriCARna – hot rods & muscle cars, Mustangs & Cameros. Here’s a few which caught my eye …

Shortly before leaving, we checked out some photography YouTubers giving advice on the tricky subject of cars + the public + sunshine + shiny stuff.  A key suggestion was to focus on the small details. Ever the keen student …

There was a food market too …

And an opportunity to practice my street photography …

Last year’s event was a dull mizzling kind of day – not great for the amateur photog. This long & sunny September has extended my normal photography season with the added value of new subjects.

Enjoy your weekend!

  1. Unconscious bias there Debs! I know a lot of women who get excited about cars, and there are quite a few chaps, me included, who are ambivalent about cars – I admire the classics, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to check them out.

But – great photos! Hopefully you’re pleased?

  2. Ah, I do seem to have forgotten my usual sweeping generalisation alert 😁 for you are entirely correct.

Thanks for the kind words on the photos. I’ve been shooting on manual for a few months now & feel I’m making progress.
